Nelson J. Lam is the President and Chief Investment Officer of The
Lam Group, Inc.
Prior to founding The Lam Group, Mr. Lam was a Managing Director at
Windermere Investment Associates in Portland, OR, an investment advisory
and consulting firm with over $5 billion in advisory assets. At
Windermere, Mr. Lam was head of the Performance Analytics and Reporting
Group and the Traditional Investment Manager Research Group as well as
served as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer.
Before moving to Oregon, Mr. Lam was a senior executive in the Fixed
Income Department at UBS Securities, Inc. in New York, and managed the
firm’s largest and most sophisticated institutional fixed income
investment manager relationships. Prior to UBS, Mr. Lam held investment
banking positions with Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and J.P. Morgan &
Co.
Mr. Lam holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from
The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of
Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.
Additionally, Mr. Lam is an affiliate member of the CFA Institute
(formerly AIMR) and the CFA Society of Portland. Mr. Lam also served as
a member (2004-09, Chairman 2008-09) of the Investment Committee for the Multnomah Athletic Club in
Portland, OR.
Mr. Lam was born in 1960 and raised in Princeton, NJ. He is married and
has three sons.
Bettina (Tina) S. Lee is a Managing Director and the Chief
Operating Officer of The Lam Group, Inc.
Ms. Lee’s responsibilities at The Lam Group include managing day-to-day
operations, assisting with compliance matters, as well as serving on our
Investment Committee.
Prior to joining The Lam Group, Ms. Lee was a Principal at SmartForest
Ventures (SFV) in Portland, OR, a venture capital firm with over $65
million in assets under management. At SmartForest, Ms. Lee was
responsible for sourcing early-stage venture capital deals, researching
new technologies and evaluating technical and management teams. She
served as a member SFV’s Investment Committee.
Before moving to Oregon, Ms. Lee was a senior executive in the Equity
Derivatives Department at Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank) in New York,
and managed the some of the firm’s largest and most sophisticated
institutional investor relationships, including hedge funds, Fortune 500
companies and pension funds.
Her prior professional
experience included engineering positions at Bell Labs.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Harvard
Business School, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in
Math and Computer Science and
Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical Engineering from Cornell
University.
Ms. Lee was born in 1961 and raised in New York City. She is married and
has three sons.
